Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Construction Project Manager, responsible for overseeing the construction phase of projects at our Sewage Treatment Works in London and surrounding areas.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Design and Delivery Reviews: Supporting essential reviews, identifying risks and issues, and working with stakeholders to resolve them.
  • Project Progress Assessment: Focused on assessing and reporting project progress, acting to rectify issues, and taking the lead on the escalation process if necessary.
  • Snag Identification and Resolution: Managing the identification and resolution of snags and liaising with operators and contractors after takeover to handle defects, aftercare, and performance testing.
  • Takeover Tests: Monitored, agreed upon, and approved Takeover tests with the project team.
  • Project Documentation: Ensuring that required project documentation meets our specifications and that information for takeover is approved.
  • Team Collaboration: Working as an active member of one or more project teams with one or more of our contractors.

Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A HNC or above in an appropriate engineering subject or background in a similar role.
  • Knowledge of health and safety on construction sites or holding of an SMSTS qualification (which can be offered as part of the role).
  • Understanding of design, construction, and operations within industries like the water sector.
  • Background in project delivery within the construction sector.
  • Foster a positive Health and Safety culture within the team and contractors, ensuring adherence to environmental and Health and Safety statutory obligations.
