About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and ambitious Consultant Psychiatrist & Deputy Medical Director to join our team at Cygnet Hospital Maidstone. The ideal candidate will have a passion for delivering high-quality care and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

The post holder will be responsible for overseeing and maintaining the care of all ward inpatients, as well as auditing the medical services rendered at the ward to ensure they meet GMC standards.

The Deputy Medical Director will provide senior medical cover on our 16-bedded personality disorder service for women and will have responsibility for auditing the medical services rendered at the ward.

Main Responsibilities
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality care to patients
  • Take overall responsibility for patient treatment plans in conjunction with the MDT
  • Assess referrals and undertake mental state examinations of service users
  • Undertake appropriate investigations, diagnosis, and treatment
  • Participate in ward rounds and clinical audits
  • Lead the implementation of risk assessment, risk management, and embed clinical governance
