Job Title: Class 1 Cab Hopper Tramper

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 HGV driver to join our team as a Tramper. As a Tramper, you will be responsible for collecting and delivering customers' products on a curtain-sided trailer, ensuring load security using ratchet straps.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collecting and delivering customers' products on a curtain-sided trailer
  • Ensuring load security using ratchet straps
  • Delivering loads throughout the UK, both full and groupage loads
  • Using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork
  • Dealing with customers face-to-face and over the phone
  • Keeping in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and managing customers' expectations
  • This will include nights away and attending regular training sessions

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Must hold a UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence
  • Hold a current DCPC Card and Digital Tachograph Driver Card
  • Be passionate about providing excellent customer service
  • Working to deadlines
  • Confident, polite, and a team player
  • Good geographical knowledge
  • Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated

What We Offer:

  • Basic salary for Class 1 Tramper is £39,000 per annum, plus up to £4,000 per annum tax-free night out allowance
  • This is a permanent full-time holiday cover position
  • Shifts available are Monday-Saturday or Sunday-Friday, with start times between 06:00hrs and 07:00hrs
  • Enhanced rates available for working weekends
  • £70 every 5 years for HGV Medical
