We are seeking a skilled Paediatric Nurse to join our team at West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. As a Paediatric Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care to children and their families in a 20-bedded acute children's ward with a two-bed high dependency unit.

The ideal candidate will have a good command of written and spoken English, evidence of professional development, and a degree or diploma in Children's Nursing. They will also have knowledge of child protection issues, paediatric care philosophy, and current research and developments within paediatric nursing.

The successful candidate will work as a skilled member of the nursing team, providing a high standard of holistic family-centred care to children and their families. They will also undertake delegated responsibility for the department in the absence of the Ward/Unit Manager.

Person Specification:

  • RSCN/RN CHILD
  • Evidence of a good command of written and spoken English
  • Evidence of professional development

Desirable:

  • Degree/Diploma in Children's Nursing

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of child protection issues
  • An understanding of the philosophy of paediatric care & Paediatric A&E
  • Awareness of current research and developments within paediatric nursing
  • Awareness of equality and diversity
  • Basic knowledge of computers

Experience:

  • Experience at Band 5 in an acute paediatric setting
