Job Title: CAMHS Mental Health Nurse

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Mental Health Nurse to join our team at Northern Healthcare. As a key member of our community-based service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support to individuals with complex mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver evidence-based interventions and care plans to individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and develop transition, admission, and discharge plans.
  • Collaborate with external agencies and professionals to ensure seamless care coordination.
  • Develop and implement risk management plans and treatment plans to promote recovery and well-being.
  • Participate in on-call rota and provide out-of-hours support as needed.
  • Ensure accurate and timely documentation and maintain confidentiality in accordance with legal and organizational requirements.
  • Safeguard individuals from abuse and report any incidents immediately.
  • Adhere to MCA principles and codes of practice, and ensure compliance with relevant legislation.
  • Manage high-risk presentations and complex cases with a focus on positive therapeutic risk management.
  • Undertake medication management, audits, and offer medication competencies to support staff.
  • Monitor and maintain required paperwork related to CTO/Section 17.
  • Utilize strategies to enhance recovery for vulnerable adults and undertake care planning, implementation, and evaluation.

Requirements:

  • Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) qualification.
  • Experience working with individuals with complex mental health needs.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, including MCA and MHA.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with external agencies and professionals.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
