We are seeking a qualified and registered Accuracy Checking Pharmacy Technician to join our pharmacy ward-based team at East Cheshire NHS Trust.


This exciting opportunity is for a Pharmacy Technician who will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient, and effective patient care. You will gain experience in all aspects of hospital pharmacy practice in our busy department, where we are committed to the extended role of technicians.


The successful candidate will possess excellent communication and organisational skills to provide efficient and safe pharmacy services for patients. Your duties will include dispensary services, patient counselling, ward-based work, and accuracy checking.



Key Responsibilities

  • Be an effective and proactive team member of our team.
  • Responsible for the supply of medication to patients.
  • Complete Medicines reconciliation for newly admitted patients.
  • Provide medicines management support to wards.
  • Manage and process discharge prescriptions at ward level.
  • Perform accuracy checking at ward level and designated slots within the dispensary.
  • Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council.
  • Support service improvement and become an integral part of the team.

Essential Skills and Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified pharmacy technician with BTEC/NVQ3 in pharmaceutical sciences or recognised equivalent, and a BTEC accuracy checking qualification or equivalent. Additionally, you should have current professional registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council.


A competitive salary, estimated to be around £35,000 - £45,000 per annum, depending on experience, reflects the importance of this role in providing high-quality patient care.
