Lead C&I Systems Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Lead C&I Systems Engineer to join our team at Rolls-Royce SMR. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for delivering industry-leading, cutting-edge design projects for our new type of nuclear power station.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Liaise with other disciplines to understand functional performance capabilities of components and systems to facilitate effective system design.
  • Support the planning and implementation of policies and procedures related to the lifecycle of C&I systems.
  • Ensure that optimum solutions are provided for the RR SMR Nuclear Power Plant by supporting the procurement, operations, and maintenance aspects of the equipment.
  • Contribute to the production of safety cases and provide support in liaising with regulators and independent nuclear safety assessors.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge and experience in the systematic design lifecycle of a C&I system including specification, design, assessment, verification, testing, installation, commissioning, and maintenance of safety or process-critical C&I systems.
  • A good understanding of the principles of designing systems to be functionally resilient to faults (such as redundancy and diversity).
  • Knowledge and experience of applying systems engineering methodologies, including Model-Based Systems Engineering, to C&I systems.
