About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Education Resources Manager to join our team. This is a permanent vacancy with a salary of 26,500, offering the opportunity to work in a top-tier all-through school in Newham.

Job Description

The Education Resources Manager will play a key role in ensuring that the school library is at the heart of school life, driving reading progress, and promoting a love of reading among pupils. The successful candidate will have a strong passion for literacy and education, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

The key responsibilities of this role include:

  • Managing and maintaining the school library and its resources
  • Purchasing and managing library resources, including books, digital materials, and online databases
  • Developing and implementing programs to promote literacy and a love of reading among pupils
  • Providing one-to-one support and small group teaching to pupils who require additional literacy support
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A recognized professional qualification for librarianship or information management
  • Maths and English GCSEs at Grade C or above
  • A-level English or equivalent at Grade C or above (desirable)
  • Experience working in a library or similar environment (desirable)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Able to work effectively in a team
