About the Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled individual to join our team as a Member for Scotland on the Communications Consumer Panel, who will also act as a Member of the Advisory Committee for Older and Disabled People (ACOD).

This is an exceptional opportunity to shape the future of communications policy in Scotland and contribute to ensuring that consumers, citizens, and micro businesses are at the heart of regulatory decisions.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the experiences of rural and remote communities in Scotland and be able to bring this expertise to the role.

Key Responsibilities
  • Contributing to discussions and formal policy responses as a Member of the Communications Consumer Panel;
  • Representing the interests of older and disabled people in Scotland through ACOD;
  • Challenging industry and policy makers' proposals to ensure they meet the needs of consumers and citizens in Scotland;
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to demonstrate:

  • Effective communication skills to make an effective contribution to high-level public body discussions;
  • A deep understanding of the telecoms, postal services, and digital sectors, including their impact on consumers and citizens in Scotland;
  • The ability to learn quickly and form informed opinions on complex issues;
