Procurement Specialist

Kalsec is seeking a highly skilled Sourcing Manager to manage the procurement of raw materials, oleoresins, and spices from Europe.
- Execute all Purchasing functions, including inventory management, negotiation with suppliers, scheduling and tracking shipments, and other related activities.
- Monitor and maintain optimal inventory levels to ensure seamless production operations.
- Support Kalsec inventory reporting for Business Units as needed.
- Coordinate with Kalamazoo Manufacturing Team production schedules to ensure timely delivery of raw materials.
- Ensure supplier compliance with Kalsec Quality and Procurement requirements, including collection of required documentation.
- Address and respond to supplier performance issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Monitor crop conditions in growing regions and travel as needed to ensure supplier compliance and worldwide supply conditions.
- Provide backup support to other Procurement roles as needed.
- Assist the Director of Procurement in various projects, including the Make/Buy initiative and other initiatives as needed.
- Required:
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
- 5+ years of relevant Procurement or Food Industry experience.
- Solid understanding of negotiation practices and inventory control experience.
- Experience with Food Ingredients and a strong understanding of technical product specifications.
- Desired:
- Master's Degree in a relevant field.
- Experience as a buyer, preferably in the food industry.
- Extensive and demonstrated understanding of inventory control practices and sourcing model analysis.
- Enthusiasm for engaging with diverse environments and cultures, relationship building, and international travel.
