The Apprenticeship Programme

The apprenticeship scheme is a comprehensive training programme designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge required to succeed in the field of engineering. The first 12 months of the programme will be spent at the Gloucestershire Engineering Training College, where apprentices will gain a broad-based engineering introduction, NVQ at Level 2, and Technical Certificate Year 1.

During the subsequent 3 years, apprentices will receive on-site training at the INVISTA Gloucester site, working alongside experienced technicians and engineers. One day per week will be dedicated to training at the GET, where apprentices will work towards achieving a NVQ level 3 in Mechatronics Maintenance and Technical Certificate (in Year 2).

Additionally, there is the potential for apprentices to complete a Higher National Certificate in Mechatronics, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent.

Requirements

  • 5 GCSE's grades A-C or 9-5, including Maths, English, and Science.
  • A practical mindset and past interest in the engineering field, demonstrated through schoolwork or outside interests.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Self-motivation, commitment, and a hardworking attitude, with the ability to work under supervised conditions, as part of a team, and on your own initiative.
  • A desire to enter the field of Electrical/Mechanical maintenance.
  • Candidates must be at least 18 years old.
