Job Description for Cost and Commercial Assurance Specialist

About the Role:

As a Cost and Commercial Assurance Specialist, you will play a vital role in delivering cost and commercial assurance commissions for our clients. You will work collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the review of contractor's systems, processes, and costs to provide a risk and compliance assessment.
  • Support service delivery, often with respect to large and complex commissions covering both private and public sector clients.
  • Analyze high volumes of data that are primarily excel driven, ideally with experience of different cost systems.
  • Extract, interrogate, and assess large data sets to problem solve and produce outputs that can be used in the decision-making process.
  • Present reports to both clients and contractors, as well as contribute to team presentations.
  • Be an advocate of Mace's value of safety first, and be accountable for leading and maintaining exceptional safety, quality, cost, programme, sustainability, and project compliance standards.

Requirements:

  • Technical expertise in local health and safety rules and regulations relevant to project portfolio.
  • Degree in quantity surveying/cost management (or equivalent).
  • Commercial and financial acumen.
  • Knowledge of value engineering, life cycle costing, contract law, and contractual frameworks relating to construction.
  • Experience of managing parts of projects within large, diverse teams.
