Petrochemical Inspector Job Description
Core Laboratories is seeking a skilled Petrochemical Inspector to join our team. As a Petrochemical Inspector, you will be responsible for conducting inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, or shore tanks to ensure compliance with standards. You will also measure physical bulk, density, temperature, and meter petrochemical fluids to determine quantity accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct basic petrochemical inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, or shore tanks according to specific client instructions and predefined procedures.
- Perform visual cleanliness inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, or shore tanks to ensure compliance with standards.
- Measure physical bulk, density, temperature, and meter petrochemical fluids to determine quantity accurately.
- Collect samples of petrochemical fluids as per international or other applicable standards, ensuring proper labelling and storage of samples for laboratory analysis.
- Verify the accuracy of measurement equipment and ensure it is maintained in proper working order.
- Complete predefined inspection reports and forms accurately and efficiently using computer systems.
- Carry out all activities in accordance with individual client instructions, Saybolt standard procedures, the Global Safety Manual, risk assessments, local standards/safety rules, and Core Laboratories/Saybolt company policies.
- Attend training sessions and pass examinations in petroleum, chemical, and gas inspection procedures, hazardous materials transportation, and other safety training required by applicable regulations.
Requirements:
- Minimum high school / secondary education or equivalent
- Minimum 6 months experience as Inspector I
- Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations (compute flow rate, ratio, percentage, quantities—linear, volumetric, or weight—and geometrical calculations)
- Valid driving license and satisfactory driving record
