JOB PURPOSE:
The Inspector II performs basic petrochemical inspection tasks, occasionally under supervision depending on the assignment. The role involves conducting inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, or shore tanks following precisely predefined procedures. The inspections pertain to the measurement of petrochemical fluids, and may include dry cargo in certain locations, as well as collecting samples for laboratory analysis.
The Inspector II ensures the integrity and accuracy of petrochemical inspections and contributing to the overall safety and compliance of operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES / KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES (Other duties may be assigned):

Conduct basic petrochemical inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, or shore tanks according to specific client instructions and predefined procedures.
Perform visual cleanliness inspections of vessels, rail/road cars, or shore tanks to ensure compliance with standards.
Measure physical bulk, density, temperature, and meter petrochemical fluids to determine quantity accurately.
Collect samples of petrochemical fluids as per international or other applicable standards, ensuring proper labelling and storage of samples for laboratory analysis.
Verify the accuracy of measurement equipment and ensure it is maintained in proper working order.
Complete predefined inspection reports and forms accurately and efficiently using computer systems.
Carry out all activities in accordance with individual client instructions, Saybolt standard procedures, the Global Safety Manual, risk assessments, local standards/safety rules, and Core Laboratories/Saybolt company policies.
Attend training sessions and pass examinations in petroleum, chemical, and gas inspection procedures, hazardous materials transportation, and other safety training required by applicable regulations. Assist more senior Inspectors with their inspection tasks as required, providing support to ensure efficient and accurate completion of assignments.

QUALIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION:

Minimum high school / secondary education or equivalent
Minimum 6 months experience as Inspector I
Ability to perform complex mathematical calculations (, compute flow rate, ratio, percentage, quantities—linear, volumetric, or weight—and geometrical calculations). Valid driving license and satisfactory driving record.

KNOWLEDGE & ATTRIBUTES

Good knowledge of all Microsoft packages.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those that the individual encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made. The job requires to inspect tanks which includes working at heights and confined spaces. Individual should be mobile (walk, climb, carry), rely on senses (sight, talk, hear, smell) and be able to lift items up to 20 kg (or in accordance with local regulations). Individuals will be required to work irregular hours / shifts (including nights, weekends, holidays) and work away from their base office.

This position is based SITE BASED with occasional office visits.

Limited exposure to working on or near moving equipment and vibrating equipment.
Limited exposure to noise over 85 Decibels and the light is intense/ glare.
Work surfaces stable, height is elevated.
Approximately equally split office/outdoors (including boarding vessels), during the day and evening, with some overnight working required.
Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
