Automotive Specialist Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Automotive Specialist to join our team at Jay Peak Resort Inc. This is a full-time, year-round position that requires a strong background in automotive repair and maintenance.

About the Role

This role involves performing scheduled preventative maintenance and necessary repairs to a variety of vehicles, including automobiles, trucks, vans, heavy equipment, groomers, snow mobiles, 4 wheelers, and UTVs.

Responsibilities
  • Raising vehicles with hydraulic jacks or hoists to gain access to mechanical units on the underside of vehicles.
  • Removing units such as engines, transmissions, or differentials, and disassembling them for inspection and repair.
  • Testing repaired vehicles and listening for performance issues.
  • Adjusting brakes, aligning front ends, and repairing or replacing shock absorbers.
  • Mending damaged body and fenders by hammering out or welding broken parts.
Requirements
  • Two to four years of related experience and/or training.
  • A valid Vermont Driver's License and ability to meet requirements of Jay Peak Resort's automobile insurance policies.
  • Mechanical knowledge of gas and diesel repair, as well as experience with hydraulic and air brake systems.
