Job Title: Data Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Management Specialist to join our team at UK Management College. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology programme, ensuring it meets the highest academic standards and aligns with our institution's mission of innovation, diversity, and community engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive curriculum for the BA (Hons) Sociology and Criminology programme, incorporating interdisciplinary approaches and ensuring alignment with current academic standards and emerging trends.
  • Collaborate with academic leaders and faculty to maintain an innovative and relevant curriculum, driving student success and academic integrity.
  • Supervise student projects, placements, and fieldwork, ensuring they align with academic and employability outcomes.
  • Lead efforts to recruit, retain, and develop a diverse, high-performing team of educators with expertise in sociology, criminology, and related fields.
  • Provide academic and pastoral care to students, ensuring a student-centred learning environment.
  • Ensure the programme adheres to UKMC's academic standards and quality assurance processes, including module evaluation and periodic reviews.
  • Cultivate partnerships with local communities, law enforcement agencies, NGOs, and other relevant organizations to provide students with real-world experience and applied learning opportunities.
Requirements:
  • A doctoral degree (PhD) in Sociology, Criminology, or a related social science field from an accredited institution.
  • Substantial experience in academic leadership roles, preferably in sociology, criminology, or a related social science discipline.
  • Proven experience in curriculum development, quality assurance, and programme management.
  • A commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, both within the curriculum and the wider academic environment.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong partnerships with internal and external stakeholders, including community organizations and academic institutions.

  • Commitment to continuous professional development and active participation in research and scholarly activities.
  • Willingness to undertake the Postgraduate Certificate in Learning and Teaching in Higher Education (if not already held) and achieve Fellowship status under the Higher Education Academy's Professional Standards Framework.
