**About the Role:**

Polytec Personnel Ltd is currently looking for a highly skilled Maintenance Technician to join their team in Cambridge. As a key member of the Estates and Facilities team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of plant systems and services.

**Expected Salary:** £32,525 (based on the national average salary range in the UK), reflecting the importance of this role.

Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out regular electrical and mechanical maintenance checks on plant systems and services to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance.
  2. Supervise and manage external contractors and service providers to guarantee timely and efficient maintenance delivery.
  3. Liaise closely with colleagues and stakeholders to schedule and coordinate maintenance activities, ensuring minimal disruption to operations.
  4. Detect and diagnose potential issues promptly, using your expertise to implement effective solutions.
  5. Oversee the safe and efficient operation of steam boilers and associated systems, adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a recognised electrical or mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications.
  • Possess a full UK driving licence.
  • Have extensive experience working in complex buildings with responsibility for electrical and/or mechanical systems.
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of engineering services and building maintenance principles.
  • Show a clear awareness of work-related health and safety risks and the ability to mitigate these effectively.
  • Be proficient in BMS systems and have a solid understanding of HVAC systems.
  • possess strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office proficiency.
  • Be able to work with handheld devices and smart technology.
