Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Team Lead to join our team at the University of Massachusetts Medical School. As a key member of our Clinical Pharmacy Services team, you will be responsible for leading and managing the drug utilization review and medication management therapy programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the activities of the advisory board clinical workgroups, including chairing meetings, recruiting participants, and gathering information.
  • Represent the program at client meetings, conferences, and public forums.
  • Coordinate the request for prior authorization (RPA) process, ensuring compliance with federal regulations.
  • Participate in the development of clinical drug use criteria for the prospective and retrospective review components of the DUR Program.
  • Research member cases and represent the client during appeal processes regarding prescription medications.
  • Perform medication therapy management comprehensive and targeted medication reviews of medical and medication profiles.
  • Review members' medical and medication profiles and interact with healthcare providers and client members to review appropriate drug therapy.
  • Provide real-time drug therapy recommendations to prescribers.
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Pharmacy with 3 years of work experience or Doctor of Pharmacy degree with 2 years of pharmacy-related work experience.
  • Eligibility for licensure or current pharmacist license in good standing in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.
  • Previous medical/profile review and medication review experience.
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bilingual fluency in reading, writing, and speaking English and one other major language.
