Job Title: Cook

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Cook to join our catering team at Long Marston Primary School. As a Cook, you will be responsible for preparing and serving nutritious meals to our pupils and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, using fresh and locally sourced ingredients.
  • Ensure the kitchen is clean and hygienic at all times, adhering to health and safety regulations.
  • Supervise and support kitchen staff, providing guidance and training as needed.
  • Manage kitchen inventory, ordering supplies and equipment as required.
  • Collaborate with the catering team to plan and implement menus, ensuring variety and nutritional balance.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment, preferably in a school or catering setting.
  • Excellent cooking skills, with the ability to prepare a variety of dishes.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings and weekends.
  • Enhanced DBS clearance, as required by the role.
