About the Company: Tate Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health and Safety Manager to join a prestigious manufacturing organization. This role will involve managing the Health and Safety function and leading on all Health and Safety matters, ensuring compliance with Health and Safety guidelines.

About the Role: The main responsibility for this position will be to manage the Health and Safety for the company, leading on all Health and Safety matters, and ensuring that all compliance is followed in line with Health and Safety guidelines. The successful candidate will be responsible for reducing the risk of accidents and on-site injuries in the workplace by identifying hazards and putting solutions in place to protect employees and visitors to the site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain ISO 45001 Health and Safety Management Standard
  • Conduct regular internal audits and workplace inspections
  • Responsible for ensuring compliance with COSHH Regulations and that all COSHH assessments are carried out
  • Responsible for ensuring that all risk assessments are created and carried out
  • Conduct regular internal audits
  • Proactively identify hazards in the workplace and implement solutions limiting the risk of accidents
  • Ensure compliance with RIDDOR
  • Chair the H & S Committee and facilitate regular meetings, ensuring that actions are delegated appropriately
  • Successfully implement employee-based training to reduce the risk of accidents and illnesses on site
  • Regularly check that permits are all documented correctly
  • Support shifts and visit regularly to ensure compliance across all shifts
  • Plus many other ad hoc duties associated with a Health and Safety role

Qualifications and Experience: Previously managed Health and Safety in a manufacturing or distribution company. Understanding and experience of ISO 45001 is ideal. Strong communications skills, able to influence and delegate. Analytical and problem-solving skills.
