Fleet and Facilities Operations Manager

We are a direct delivery specialist contractor serving both the water industry and the wider water environment. Our company currently holds 29 frameworks and works with most of the UK's water companies as well as the Environment Agency.
Job OverviewCirca £31,000 per annum, this role is ideal for a proactive and organised individual looking to join our Supply Chain team as a Depot Coordinator.
Key Responsibilities- Manage stock, equipment, small machinery, vehicles, and facilities while overseeing regional administration.
- Collaborate effectively with support services, site teams, and project management.
In collaboration with the National Fleet & Equipment Manager, ensure the servicing, roadworthiness, and availability of the local fleet.
Equipment Management:Proactively manage the maintenance and inspection programme, ensuring all equipment is compliant and fit for purpose. Remove items from use when necessary.
Stock Management:Oversee goods in/out and stock rotation. Conduct regular stock checks to ensure materials are correctly labelled and stored in compliance with regulations, reducing wastage.
Tool & Equipment Management:Issue tools and equipment to teams, ensure they are returned, and oversee the maintenance of all machinery.
Facilities Management:Oversee all building and facilities needs, acting as the main point of contact for on-site contractors to ensure work is completed efficiently and to a high standard. Take a hands-on approach to minor maintenance tasks.
Site Deliveries:Undertake site deliveries as required.
Requirements- Proven experience in a similar role, with knowledge of health and safety procedures.
- Ability to manage and maintain small machinery and equipment (PAT testing experience is ideal).
- Strong problem-solving skills with a hands-on, proactive approach.
- Commercial acumen to manage stock and reduce waste efficiently.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to work effectively across various teams.
- Competent in the use of Microsoft Office to maintain records, prepare reports, and manage administrative tasks.
- Hold a current driving licence, preferably with towing experience.
