Computational Biologist

The Barts Cancer Institute at Queen Mary University of London is seeking a highly motivated Computational Biologist to join our team. As a key member of our research group, you will develop novel methods for analyzing next-generation sequencing data to improve cancer diagnostics.
About the RoleThis is a full-time appointment for 12 months, with an estimated annual salary of £30,000-£40,000 depending on experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bioinformatics, computational biology, or a related field, and excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, R, or MATLAB.
About YouWe are looking for a talented individual who can work independently and collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team. You will be responsible for developing and implementing new algorithms and statistical models to analyze large-scale genomic data, and interpreting results to inform clinical decisions.
About the ProjectThe Rosenfeld lab at the Barts Cancer Institute is pioneering new approaches for non-invasive molecular diagnostics and analysis of cancer genomes and evolution using next-generation sequencing of circulating cell-free tumour DNA (ctDNA). We work with large collections of patient samples from different clinical studies, which we analyse by both genome-wide and targeted methods for sensitive mutation detection.
