Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our team as the Head of Interpreter Training and Development at SignVideo by Sorenson. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our interpreter training and development initiatives, ensuring that our interpreters have the skills and knowledge needed to provide exceptional service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement training programs for interpreters, including workshops, webinars, and e-learning modules.
  • Collaborate with the Director of Interpreting to develop and implement assessment tools and processes to evaluate interpreter performance.
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to interpreters to improve their skills and knowledge.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with industry partners and stakeholders to stay up-to-date on best practices and industry developments.
  • Contribute to the development of policies and procedures related to interpreter training and development.
  • Manage and oversee the administration of interpreter training and development programs.
Requirements
  • Qualified BSL/English Interpreter/Translator with 5+ years of experience in interpreting and translation.
  • 5+ years of experience in interpreter training and development.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to assess the skill sets of potential interpreting/translation employees.
  • Ability to provide diagnostic feedback to each Interpreting/translator employee regarding skill sets.
  • Knowledge of adult education theories and ability to adapt materials for delivery.
  • Experience in e-learning development or willingness and ability to learn.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic, highly regulated work environment.
  • Collaborative, supportive, and positive attitude.
  • Team-oriented.
  • Computer and video equipment used in all areas of the job.
  • Solid understanding of the Code of Professional Ethics.
  • Fast learner and motivated.
  • Ability to work in a high-tech environment.
