Occupational Health Advisor Job Description

The Portfolio Group is seeking an experienced Occupational Health Advisor to join our team. As an Occupational Health Advisor, you will provide professional medical advice to employers and employees about health and work issues, ensuring integration with business practices.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assess employee functionality and produce high-quality reports within allocated timeframes.
  • Provide advice and support to employers on complex matters, facilitating employee rehabilitation back to work after sick leave.
  • Ensure efficient Occupational Health service delivery and coordination of administration processes.
  • Complete a full range of services, including medical information calls, management referrals, and report triage.
  • Assist with new business and relationship management requirements, providing clinical input as needed.
  • Attend client meetings, including UK travel, and accompany Relationship Managers as required.
  • Build strong working relationships to maintain an excellent reputation in the Occupational Health field.
  • Respond to client queries in a timely manner, achieving satisfactory solutions or clarifications.
  • Attend Occupational Health team meetings, participating in presentations to share current information and knowledge.
  • Demonstrate high accuracy and attention to detail in all written work and CRM system entries.
  • Adhere to ISO-approved policies and procedures, ensuring quality and compliance.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues at all levels, demonstrating good interpersonal skills.
Requirements:
  • Specialist degree or Diploma in Occupational Health.
  • Current Licence with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC).
  • Practising Occupational Health work experience.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload to meet deadlines.
Desirable Skills:
  • Proven experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and proficient IT skills.
  • Excellent written and communication skills.
  • Experience working towards KPIs and SLAs.
  • Ability to work as part of a busy team.
  • Experience working with Occupational Health referrals and various organisations.
