About the Role:

As an Embedded Software Specialist, you will be involved in the design and development of firmware designs for FPGA systems, working closely with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Firmware Design: Develop firmware designs for complex functions and systems, ensuring that all designs follow the company firmware process.
  2. Design Reviews: Produce material for design reviews, working closely with project managers and engineers.
  3. Test Planning and Integration: Plan and integrate test strategies for firmware designs, ensuring seamless verification and validation.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (preferable) or related science (e.g. Physics).
  • Experience using FPGA technologies from Xilinx, Intel (Altera), or Microsemi (Actel) and their tools.
  • Strong knowledge of VHDL or System Verilog / UVM.
  • Ability to analyse system level requirements and derive detailed firmware requirements.
  • Methodical approach to the full firmware design lifecycle, working to a structured firmware process such as RTCA DO-254.
