As a key member of this dynamic team, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality projects across various sectors, including commercial, retail, public sector, education, health, and residential.

About the Job:

This is an exceptional opportunity for a talented and ambitious Building Services Design Engineer to take on a leadership position within a renowned consultancy. Working closely with long-standing clients, you will be exposed to a diverse range of projects, from small-scale repair schemes to multi-million pound new developments. Your expertise will be instrumental in ensuring the successful delivery of these projects, driving efficiency, and pushing the boundaries of innovation.

As a Senior Building Services Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers, managing the engineering output for each project, and working closely with the Director to manage financial deliverables and lead project bids. You will utilize your exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to build strong relationships with clients and stakeholders, drive initiatives to support Net Zero Carbon, and stay up-to-date with industry developments and legislation.

  • Manage the MEP design teams, providing technical guidance and support to junior engineers.
  • Lead site visits, gathering information for technical due diligence, informing MEP design, and monitoring installation and commissioning.
  • Investigate factors affecting building services, including user needs and regulatory requirements, providing expert technical advice.
  • Liaise with construction professionals, both internally and externally, including architects, surveyors, and other stakeholders.
  • Drive initiatives to support Net Zero Carbon, conducting energy analysis, thermal modelling, and researching sustainable design and building physics.

Key Requirements:

  • BSc / BEng (Hons) or MSc / MEng in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Service Engineering, or Public Health.
  • A genuine interest in sustainability and net zero carbon, ideally with some understanding of sustainable design or building physics and associated software.
  • A full clean driving licence, with willingness to travel by car or public transport for day-to-day work.
  • An interest in achieving commercial sustainability qualifications such as Low Carbon Consultant, BREEAM, WELL.
