Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant

Location: Primary Special School in Sheffield

Contract: Full-time

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000 per annum (equivalent to £84-£95 per day)

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support children with special educational needs at our primary special school in Sheffield. Our school caters for children aged four to eleven years old with a range of SEN and Disabilities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver tailored educational programs and activities to support learning
  • Provide individual and group support to students who require additional help and encouragement
  • Manage and improve student behaviour using positive reinforcement techniques
  • Support the class teacher in preparing resources, setting up activities, and maintaining a safe and stimulating learning environment
  • Provide personal care assistance where necessary, ensuring dignity and respect
  • Facilitate communication with students who may have language, communication, or sensory needs
  • Monitor and record student progress, sharing observations with teachers and parents as required
  • Promote an inclusive learning environment where all students feel valued and supported

Requirements:

  • A relevant qualification in education, childcare, or a related field is preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience working with children with special educational needs is highly desirable
