CAMHS Clinician in Training Specialist

This is an exciting opportunity to join the Oxleas Tri-borough CAMHS service in Greenwich, Bromley, or Bexley as a Recruit to Train Trainee. The post-holder will be training on the Children & Young People Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (CYP IAPT) Course in the modality of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and carrying out clinical work in the service to complement their studies and use their newly developed skills.
Main Duties of the JobAs a CAMHS clinician in training, candidates will work within one of the multidisciplinary CAMHS teams carrying out evidence-based assessment and intervention in conjunction with their training, in addition to care coordination and contributing to service delivery within the team as required. This is a permanent post with this training year funded by Health Education England (HEE). You will be an employee at the service but also enrolled on a Postgraduate Diploma course. As this is a Postgraduate level training, you will be required to study and perform at academic level. Applicants must be prepared to work towards their studies outside of protected study time (such as on weekends and after work).
Job ResponsibilitiesCAMHS is a large community mental health service for children and young people 0-18 presenting with a broad range of mental health difficulties. Across 5 specialist pathways, multidisciplinary teams deliver evidence-based interventions and support to children, young people, and their families working closely with education, social care, and other partner agencies. Greenwich CAMHS also provides mental health advice, support, and intervention within local schools, including a Mental Health in Schools Team and clinical in-reach to services across children's social care aimed at prevention and early identification of emotional well-being difficulties. CAMHS has embedded the principles of CYP-IAPT within its service provision. There is a supportive management structure and regular clinical supervision and opportunities for continuing professional development.
Person Specification- To have undertaken a recognised Qualification in one of the core mental health professions e.g. psychiatric nursing, occupational therapy, social work. Or 2 years post qualification Educational Mental Health Practitioner
- Current Professional Registration
- Two years post graduate experience working in mental health services
- Experience of multi agency working and liaising across internal & external agencies
- Experience working with Children and their families in CAMHS
- Has clearly applied for this specific post/training (i.e. appears to understand that it is the CBT modality)
- Experience of working in Education to increase Mental Health Awareness
