We are seeking an experienced Finance Accountant to join our team at Change-it Professional Services Ltd in Birmingham. This is a permanent role that offers a hybrid working arrangement, with 3 days spent onsite.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the UK and International Financial Accounting Managers with month-end tasks, including preparation and reconciliation of intercompany transactions.
- Contribute to the month-end process by performing balance sheet reconciliations and inputting into the preparation of the monthly Group balance sheet, cash flow statement, and income statement.
- Review and challenge journals posted by the wider finance team to ensure accuracy and appropriateness.
- Develop and implement financial controls and processes to ensure accurate reporting of the Group's financial performance and position.
- Coach Assistant Financial Accountants, including review of month-end tasks and journals.
- Cross-train and share best practices within Financial Control and with the wider finance team.
- Support the audit process with accurate and timely preparation of reconciliations to support the financial position of the group and its subsidiaries, and provide timely responses to audit queries.
- Contribute to group-wide projects, such as disposals, acquisitions, and transformational projects.
Requirements:
- Newly qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA), preferably with experience auditing large companies.
- Strong technical knowledge of FRS 102 and IFRS.
- Ability to understand complex accounting matters and identify changes and improvements in current processes.
- A self-starter who can work independently, take ownership of their work, and work well under pressure to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate cross-functionally with all departments.
