About the Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Regional Chef to join our team at Bright Horizons. As a Regional Chef, you will be responsible for leading our kitchen operations and ensuring that our high standards of food quality and safety are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment, adhering to internal and external regulations.
- Develop and implement menus that cater to the dietary needs of our children, ensuring that all meals are nutritious and appealing.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff, providing guidance and support to ensure that they are equipped to meet the demands of the role.
- Collaborate with the nursery team to ensure that our food service aligns with the nursery's care and education provision.
- Manage kitchen budgets and resources, ensuring that we are operating within our means.
- Develop and maintain relationships with suppliers, ensuring that we are receiving the best possible value for our money.
- Support the nursery team in promoting healthy eating habits and providing education on nutrition and food safety.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a senior kitchen role, preferably in a childcare setting.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with colleagues, children, and parents.
- Ability to work under pressure, prioritizing tasks and managing multiple responsibilities.
- Food Safety CIEH L2 or above, or equivalent.
- Full UK driver's license.
Desirable Qualifications:
- Experience in cooking for young children in a commercial setting.
- Understanding of EHO processes.
- Ability to transfer skills across different settings.
