Job Description:

The School of Informatics at the University of Edinburgh is seeking a highly skilled researcher to contribute to the development of machine learning and artificial intelligence methods for edge devices. This opportunity allows you to work on cutting-edge research projects, collaborating with European academic institutions and industry partners.

We require candidates with a strong background in machine learning or computer science, engineering, or related fields. The successful candidate will have expertise in developing and applying machine learning algorithms to real-world problems, as well as a solid understanding of computer systems.

The dAIEdge project, led by Amos Storkey and Elliot J. Crowley, aims to advance the field of AI at the edge. As a researcher, you will engage in high-impact research, develop innovative solutions, and collaborate with colleagues from diverse backgrounds.

The estimated salary for this position is £45,000 per annum. You will also have access to top-notch facilities and resources, including state-of-the-art computing equipment and software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of machine learning and AI methods for edge devices.
  • Collaborate with the dAIEdge project team and network partners.
  • Develop and apply machine learning algorithms to real-world problems.
  • Publish research findings in top-tier conferences and journals.

Requirements:

  • PhD in machine learning, computer science, engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong background in machine learning or computer science.
  • Excellent programming skills in languages such as Python, C++, or MATLAB.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
