Job Summary

The Adult Advanced Practitioner will work independently, assessing, diagnosing, and treating patients with primary and urgent care needs. You will also provide clinical mentorship and leadership to trainee and peer practitioners, promoting excellence in patient care and service delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with primary and urgent care needs
  • Provide clinical mentorship and leadership to trainee and peer practitioners
  • Contribute to the development of our services, ensuring high-quality patient care and service delivery
  • Work collaboratively with the clinical team to achieve shared goals and objectives
Requirements
  • One of the following: NMC Registered General Nurse OR BSc in Paramedic Science / IHCD Paramedic qualification OR BSc in Physiotherapy OR MPharm AND Advanced Clinical Practitioner MSc/Post Grad Diploma in advanced clinical practice (minimum 1 year post Masters study)
  • Current registration with HCPC, NMC or GPhC
  • Experience of working in primary/urgent care, emergency care, and clinical mentorship
  • Effective communication skills, verbal, written, and non-verbal
  • Professionally accountable for clinical practice

Local Care Direct is a non-profit Social Enterprise operating across 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year, to provide various primary and urgent health care services across West Yorkshire.

We have various full-time and part-time positions available for Qualified Advanced Clinical Practitioners at King Street Walk-In Centre in Wakefield.

King Street Walk in Centre is a nurse-led service, open 7 days a week, 365 days a year, between the hours of providing assessment, advice, and treatment of minor illnesses and a selection of minor injuries.

Hourly Rate: £27.90 in hours & £36.27 out of hours

(In Hours = Monday to Friday 08.00 to 18.00 & Out of Hours = Monday to Friday 18.00 to 08.00 and all day Saturday Sunday)

Location: Local Care Direct, King Street Walk in Centre, 47 King Street, Wakefield, WF1 2SN

Working Pattern: Part-time or Full-time positions available
