About the Role:

Fletchers Solicitors is seeking a highly skilled Senior Solicitor to join our Clinical Negligence team. As a Senior Solicitor, you will play a key role in managing a caseload of complex clinical negligence cases, working closely with the team to deliver outstanding service to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a caseload of clinical negligence cases, providing proactive and commercial case management and progression.
  • Work closely with the team to ensure the delivery of the team's financial performance KPIs.
  • Provide support, guidance, and assistance to junior team members, including coaching and mentoring.
  • Identify cases which are ready for LOC, settlement, and service within the team.
  • Work with the team to ensure that relevant information is being collected and collated to enable the progression of the case.
  • Manage a caseload in a proactive commercial manner, co-ordinating the progression of cases with all internal and external parties.
  • Drafting of legal documentation including LOC, letters of instruction, and negotiating settlement and the issuing and service of proceedings as required.
  • Oversee the documentation and correspondence produced by the team, advising on any technical issues arising from their cases.

Requirements:

  • Recent experience of handling a caseload of clinical negligence cases.
  • 8 years+ PQE or equivalent experience working in Clinical Negligence.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to work well under pressure.
  • Excellent communication and drafting skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients and other stakeholders.
  • Excellent IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office packages and other relevant software.
  • Strong commercial awareness within a legal environment, with the ability to identify opportunities for growth and development.
  • Ability to work well with junior team members, providing coaching and mentoring.
  • Flexible and willing to commit to achieving results and meeting deadlines.
