Efficiency and Productivity Insights Manager

Job Summary
The Efficiency and Productivity Insights Team in NHS England Finance and Planning Directorate is seeking a Manager of Efficiency and Productivity Insights to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to be at the heart of work to support the NHS, working closely with government to agree NHS funding, ensuring the NHS lives within its annual budget, and deciding how to distribute the funding to different NHS services and parts of England.
The successful candidate will support the monthly reporting of productivity and efficiency savings across different sectors, working in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritise appropriately and deliver in a timely manner. They will have strong analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality analytical reports and insights that can be used for policy development or decision-making.
Main Duties of the Job
The team offers high-profile, fast-paced projects that require adaptability, rigor, and innovation. The successful candidate will have experience of working in a similar environment, with knowledge of the NHS financial regime, gained ideally across both commissioning and provider sectors. They will also have experience of working with different teams across NHS England, including regional colleagues and the wider NHS ICBs and Providers.

Qualifications
Desirable
Accountancy qualification or significant experience of working at a similar level in a specialist area.
Knowledge
Essential
Knowledge of the NHS financial regime, gained ideally across both commissioning and provider sectors, and experience of working in a fast-paced environment, with the ability to prioritise appropriately and deliver in a timely manner.
Skills
Essential
Strong analytical skills, with the ability to produce high-quality analytical reports and insights that can be used for policy development or decision-making.
Desirable
Advanced Excel skills, with experience of using Alteryx, Power BI, SQL, and R.
