Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Communications Specialist to join our team at News UK. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned communications professional to take on a key role in shaping the company's corporate and trade media relations.

About the Role

This position involves managing media relationships with key contacts across various business media outlets, with a focus on core corporate functions including marketing, broadcasting, commercial, publishing, retail, technology, and others. You will also develop communications across owned corporate channels, including newsletters, the corporate website, LinkedIn, and Twitter, working closely with the trade marketing team to develop and deploy activity.

You will play a crucial role in telling the story of one of the UK's leading and most innovative media companies, working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve this goal. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and delivering proactive B2B media relations for a range of stakeholders across News UK, understanding and responding to their priorities, needs, and requirements.
  • Working closely with the Communications Director and Heads of Communications for Times Media and The Sun to develop and execute the corporate and B2B communications strategy for each division, including News Broadcasting.
  • Running the press office for internal clients and developing opportunities to surface success stories across industry events and awards.
  • Ensuring all B2B and commercial communications are aligned, integrated, and consistent by working closely with the Head of Trade Marketing and external PR agency support.
  • Aligning storytelling for your clients to other News UK colleagues and supporting the We are News employer brand externally.
  • Dealing with issues management as it arises and supporting the EVP, Director of Corporate Affairs as required.
  • Ensuring the corporate website is actively telling B2B success stories, developing thought leadership content, and optimising professional networks: LinkedIn and Twitter.
  • Producing and developing weekly commercial newsletters and other impactful tools, videos, and events to help reach audiences.
  • Effectively monitoring the performance of B2B communications and reporting back to internal clients against agreed KPIs.

Salary and Benefits

The estimated salary for this position is £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience. Additionally, you will be eligible for a range of benefits, including:
