We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Postdoctoral Research Assistant to join our team at the Department of Engineering Science, University of Oxford. The successful candidate will be part of the Circular Economy and Sustainability Lab, working on the Circular Electrical and Electronics Programme, funded by UKRI.
About the RoleThe Research Assistant will be responsible for identifying and addressing the full-lifecycle systems barriers and enablers to transition to a low-carbon Circular Economy for Electrical and Electronic Equipment (EEE). This will involve developing and evaluating novel circular product-service systems and related circular business models for EEE, leveraging emerging technologies and new behavioural insights.
Key Responsibilities- Conduct research on circular economy principles, circular economy design, product-service systems, and circular business models.
- Develop and evaluate novel circular product-service systems and related circular business models for EEE.
- Collaborate with stakeholders from across the EEE value chain to understand the barriers and enablers to a low-carbon Circular Economy for EEE.
- Design and implement user research studies to understand consumer behaviour and preferences related to EEE.
- Communicate research findings and recommendations to stakeholders through reports, presentations, and other materials.
We are seeking a candidate with a relevant PhD/DPhil in Design, Business, Engineering, or a related discipline. The successful candidate will have a strong background in circular economy principles, circular economy design, product-service systems, and circular business models. They will also have excellent communication and collaboration skills, as well as the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
