Job Title: Head of Education

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as Head of Education at East Midlands Ambulance Service NHS Trust. As a key member of our Directorate of Human Resources and Organisational Development, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality education and training programs that meet the needs of our patients and staff.

About the Role

The Head of Education will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of education strategies that align with the Trust's business plan and objectives. You will work closely with stakeholders across the organization to ensure that education standards are maintained and that our workforce is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to deliver excellent patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement an assurance framework to meet the requirements of external education awarding bodies and regulatory inspection regimes.
  • Develop and maintain an internal education quality assurance framework to ensure that all education activities within the Trust meet the requirements of awarding and compliance bodies.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor improvement action plans to enhance education standards and delivery.
  • Provide guidance and support to teams and individuals who deliver education to ensure that quality assurance processes are embedded.
  • Ensure that the Trust's workforce plan is compliant with education standards of delivery and meets the needs of the clinical operating model.
  • Liaise with relevant directorates to ensure shared ownership of the quality assurance process and education activity.
  • Establish and maintain positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support education standards and the Trust's business plan.
  • Monitor and manage team performance and participate in education transformation and improvement agendas.
  • Lead on the assurance of statutory and mandatory education standards of delivery.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • A master's degree or equivalent in a relevant subject area, such as education, leadership, or a clinical discipline.
  • Significant leadership and management experience in an education environment.
  • Experience in conducting and reporting education quality assurance reviews against set educational standards.
  • A working knowledge of current relevant education regulation.
  • Experience in short and long-term workforce planning and education redesign initiatives.
  • Evidence of continual professional development related to education.
