About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Production Manager to join our team at Bearded Kitten. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating medium to large scale projects from concept to delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Shape and manage all elements of a production, working closely with Producers and Designers to ensure efficient, high-quality, and safe planning and execution.
  • Provide production specifications and costings for competitive pitches and new business leads, balancing creative ambition with practical delivery and value to clients.
  • Be client-facing and able to clearly articulate proposed production methodologies, justifying cost line items and collaborating with clients.
  • Oversee third-party and subcontractor deliverables, ensuring they meet agreed specifications and managing the fabrication and production of all items.
  • Work with our in-house fabrication department to ensure smooth delivery of custom assets.
  • Review and identify preferred suppliers and new partners, working with Producers to ascertain internal and external staffing requirements for assigned projects.
  • Support the team in contacting, booking, and contracting freelancers, including local crew, and work with the People & Culture Lead to source and interview suitable candidates.
  • Ensure projects are delivered to relevant health and safety standards, writing RAMs, method statements, and other necessary documents as required.
  • Onsite production management during install, live, and derig of all assigned projects.
  • Oversee financial control of production budgets, working with Producers and the finance department on budget reconciliation after project completion.
  • Assist the Head of Production in training and mentoring junior production team members.
  • Support the team by providing a strong working knowledge of scenic construction methods and associated materials.
  • Be willing and able to work unsociable hours and travel domestically and internationally as required by assigned projects.
About You
  • Deep passion for delivering events, shows, and installations to the highest standards.
  • International experience in a wide range of events and installations.
  • Significant experience managing teams and providing direction.
  • Management experience of medium to large scale events in high-profile locations.
  • Proven supplier network with long-term relationships in place.
  • Excellent estimating and budgeting skills, with a working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets and strong IT/computer skills.
  • Broad understanding of delivering all elements of technical production.
  • Strong working knowledge of scenic construction methods and associated materials.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD/Vectorworks/Sketchup and generation/review of draft construction documents.
  • Solid understanding of virtual/streaming events would be beneficial.
  • Able and willing to travel domestically and internationally for periods not exceeding one month.
  • A full, clean driving license.
