We are seeking a dedicated individual to support students with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and Special Educational Needs (SEND) in their educational journey. As a Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students, teachers, and other staff members to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with ASD and SEND, both in the classroom and in specialized support settings.
  • Assist teachers in planning and delivering differentiated lessons and adapting learning materials to suit the needs of individual students.
  • Support students in developing their social skills, communication abilities, and independence.
  • Implement behaviour management strategies and interventions to support positive behaviour and engagement in learning.
  • Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support and progress monitoring.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience working with students with ASD and SEND is preferred but not essential.
  • A compassionate and patient approach to supporting students with diverse needs.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and parents/carers.
  • Relevant qualifications in education or special educational needs (SEN) are desirable but not essential.
  • Willingness to undergo necessary background checks and safeguarding training.
