Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Fostering Operations Lead to join our team in Barnardo's Cymru Fostering Service. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the service, ensuring effective delivery from initial contact through to assessment and placements of children/young people.

About the Role:

The Senior Fostering Operations Lead will work collaboratively with other professionals and foster parents across Wales to ensure we meet the sufficiency needs of local authorities while providing a high-quality service to all our foster parents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the day-to-day operations of the fostering service
  • Leadership and management of a team of supervising social workers
  • Ensuring effective service delivery from initial contact through to assessment and placements of children/young people
  • Development and implementation of strategies to improve service quality and outcomes
  • Collaboration with internal stakeholders to achieve service objectives
  • Management of budgets and resources to ensure efficient service delivery

Requirements:

  • Degree in Social Work or related field
  • Significant post-qualifying experience of fostering social care practice
  • Experience of working with children, young people, and foster parents
  • Familiarity with child protection systems and processes
  • Ability to manage a team and ensure high standards of performance
  • Social Worker qualification and registration with Social Care Wales
  • Ability to travel across Wales when required
