About the Role
University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust is seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our Paediatric Research Team as a Senior Clinical Trials Assistant. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the delivery of clinical research studies and providing high-quality care to children and their families.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the delivery of clinical research studies, including direct patient care and administrative support to children and their families.
- Organise and coordinate the day-to-day activities of delegated studies, ensuring timely and efficient delivery.
- Develop and maintain clinical knowledge and skills to provide a high standard of care to participants in research studies.
- Deliver direct care to participants, including venesection, blood pressure measurement, ECG recording, and anthropometric measurements.
- Work collaboratively with the research team to ensure seamless study delivery and high-quality participant care.
Requirements
- A' Level/NVQ3 or equivalent in a relevant subject area.
- Complete Care Certificate or NVQ3/Foundation degree in a healthcare-related subject.
- Evidence of continuing professional development and willingness to undertake further training.
- Significant relevant clinical experience in a patient-facing healthcare clinical role.
- Experience of data management and clinical research.
- Ability to work as part of a team, work under own initiative, and independently outside the department without direct supervision.
- Able to prioritise tasks and cope with deadlines.
- An understanding of confidentiality issues.
- Ability to work in a large, open-plan office with noise distractions.
- Willingness to travel to various locations in and around Southampton.
