**Job Title:** Academic SEN Specialist
**Location:** Suffolk, UK
**Salary:** £160 - £230 per day (approximately £32,000 - £46,000 per year)
We are seeking an experienced and passionate SEN educator to join our team in Suffolk. As an Academic SEN Specialist, you will provide exceptional teaching to small classes of up to 10 students with a range of needs, including communication and interaction difficulties, specific learning challenges, and social, emotional, or mental health barriers.
**Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high-quality, differentiated lessons across a range of subjects.
- Adapt the curriculum to meet the needs of pupils with SEN and/or SEMH.
- Lead and mentor Teaching Assistants and Higher-Level Teaching Assistants.
- Implement school policies, including safeguarding and promoting equality.
- Monitor student progress, focusing on both academic and emotional development.
**Requirements:
- QTS or QTLS (essential).
- Experience teaching pupils with SEN and working with EHCPs.
- Strong knowledge of the curriculum and strategies for engaging SEN learners.
- A creative, flexible approach to teaching tailored to individual learning styles.
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (required due to rural location).
About the Role: As an Academic SEN Specialist in Suffolk, you will work closely with a multidisciplinary team, including an onsite clinical team and an experienced senior leadership team. You will deliver engaging and creative lessons, adapt the curriculum to meet individual needs, and make a meaningful impact on your students' lives.
