Senior Software Engineer

About the Role:

As a Senior Software Engineer at Howden, you will join one of our agile teams. You will harness the capabilities of Microsoft Azure, Blazor, and C# to develop our front-end applications, creating scalable, high-performing, and user-friendly solutions that are secure and reliable.

You will participate in regular agile sessions, working closely with your team to deliver our roadmap while utilizing your technical and critical-thinking skills. You will influence and encourage best practice, promoting cross-team learning and collaboration to ensure opportunities for growth alongside your peers.

Your Responsibilities:

  • A strong understanding of the broader technological landscape.
  • A keen eye for detail and a focus on putting users first.
  • A defensive mindset when consuming APIs and sanitizing user inputs.
  • An understanding of accessibility needs and experience meeting relevant standards.
  • Experience with Test-driven Development and a strong commitment to high-quality, maintainable, and easy-to-understand code.
  • Strong understanding of security.
  • Experience of using observability, monitoring tools, and gathering data insights.
  • A detailed exposure to Azure cloud technologies.
  • A strong communicator and facilitator.
  • An experimental and scientific mindset leading to data-led decision making.
  • A strong understanding of agile development methodologies.
  • Genuinely believes in the value of continuous delivery practices and iterative development based on feedback.
  • Ability to demonstrate working software to a mixture of technical and non-technical stakeholders.
