Lincolnshire, United Kingdom Blue Cross Full time

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Blue Cross, a leading animal welfare charity dedicated to improving the lives of pets and their carers. The successful candidate will be part of a supportive and collaborative team providing exceptional animal care.

The role involves conducting consultations, diagnostics, surgeries, and inpatient care, overseeing clinical cases from start to finish, and working with advanced diagnostic and surgical equipment in a supportive environment. You will also provide compassionate care and support to clients seeking assistance for their pets, participate in continuing professional development and clinical discussions, help train and integrate volunteers, new graduates, and students, and conduct phone and video consultations when required.

As a Veterinary Surgeon with Blue Cross, you will have access to state-of-the-art facilities, including a large reception and waiting room, six consultation rooms, one dedicated quiet room for euthanasias, two operating suites, minor procedures room, and extensive inpatient facilities. You will also be equipped with advanced on-site veterinary technology, including digital X-ray, dental X-ray, endoscopy, ECG, and ultrasound machines, along with laboratory testing capabilities.

This is an exciting opportunity to expand your veterinary knowledge and skills through a diverse caseload, from routine care to complex medical emergencies, fostering both professional growth and development. Our generous benefits package includes 30 days of annual leave, CPD allowance, full coverage of VDS fees, programmes for physical and mental wellbeing support, free access to a GP via MetLife, and more.

In return for your hard work and dedication, we offer a competitive salary of £55,000 - £72,500, depending on experience, plus a one-off Recruitment & Retention Allowance of £2,500. This role offers a fulfilling work-life balance, with flexible working arrangements and out-of-hours shifts followed by blocks of time off in lieu.

Our Grimsby hospital is ideally located near the picturesque Lincolnshire Wolds and the award-winning Cleethorpes Beach, offering affordable housing and essential amenities. We believe that every pet should enjoy a healthy life in a happy home, and we always seek to recruit the best people who share our values and commitment so we can continue to help and support pet owners across the UK to achieve this.
