The Anaesthesia Assistants are specially trained professionals who participate and execute in the care of the surgical patient during general, regional, or conscious sedation through medical directives under the supervision of the anesthesiologist.

Responsibilities
  • Administer prescribed pharmacologic drugs
  • Manage anesthetic depth
  • Perform airway management
  • Assist with difficult airway management

In addition to these responsibilities, they assist in the preparation of the patient for surgery, perform pre-operative assessments, and establish non-invasive and invasive routine monitoring methods. They also evaluate life-threatening situations and provide clinical teaching, mentoring, and supervision of student Respiratory Therapists & other healthcare professionals.

Estimated salary: $65,000 - $90,000 per year
