Job Overview

PragmatIC Semiconductor is a world leader in semiconductor innovation, revolutionizing the industry with ultra-low-cost, flexible integrated circuit (FlexIC) technology. We are seeking a skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our team and contribute to the design and development of bespoke test fixtures, rigs, and machines to meet engineering requirements for our range of Flex ICs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop test fixtures, rigs, and machines to meet engineering requirements
  • Collaborate with internal teams and program managers to define requirements and plan timing and build
  • Update stakeholders on project progress and ensure timely delivery of projects
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including SOPs and risk assessments
  • Work with suppliers to specify and oversee manufacturing and testing of prototyping hardware
Requirements
  • Degree in Electronics, Engineering, or related field
  • Confident user of CAD tools, such as Autodesk Inventor
  • Experience with PCB design tools, such as Altium or Eagle
  • Strong understanding of signal integrity, shielding, noise, and impedance matching
  • Test probe fixtures design with pogo pins
  • Electromechanical design experience, including magnetic actuators and sensors
  • Ability to create mechanical drawings for external machine houses
  • Programming skills in C/C++ and experience with Arduino and Raspberry Pi
  • Understanding of communication protocols, such as I2C, SPI, and GPIB
  • Setup Stepper/servo motors
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and progress multiple projects simultaneously
Desirable Skills
  • Experience in writing software for PLC control systems in Ladder Logic
  • Python programming skills
  • LabView experience
  • Knowledge of reel-to-reel handling equipment
  • Understanding of machine vision
  • Comfortable with using Git or related tools for version control
