Mechatronics Engineer

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechatronics Engineer to join our team at PragmatIC. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing bespoke test fixtures, rigs, and machines to meet the engineering requirements for our range of Flex ICs.
You will work closely with internal teams and program managers to define the fixtures, rigs, and machines requirements and plan the timing and build. Throughout the planning and build phase, you will regularly update the relevant stakeholders to ensure that the projects are delivered on time to the project's scheduled milestones.
As a Mechatronics Engineer, you will be responsible for all documentation related to your projects, including SOPs and risk assessments. You will also work with suppliers to specify and oversee the manufacturing and testing of prototyping hardware when necessary.
Key Responsibilities- Design and build probe heads, jigs, and fixtures
- Troubleshoot faults on electromechanical fixtures
- Write SOPs, machine, and process risk assessments
- Work with teams across Technology and Operations to understand their hardware needs and work to address them
- Fully document projects through their development
We are looking for a candidate with a degree in Electronics, Engineering, or a related field. You should have experience in mentoring apprentices, technicians, and engineers, offering guidance on mechanical design, PCB design, and automation.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of signal integrity, shielding, noise, and impedance matching. You should also have experience with CAD tools, such as Autodesk Inventor, and PCB design tools, such as Altium or Eagle.
Desirable Skills- Experience in writing software for PLC control systems in Ladder Logic
- Python programming skills
- LabView experience
- Knowledge of reel-to-reel handling equipment
- Good understanding of machine vision
- Comfortable with using Git or related tools for version control
