Central Decontamination Unit Supervisor

Join NHS Scotland in a challenging and rewarding role as a Central Decontamination Unit Supervisor. This position is crucial in supporting healthcare services by overseeing the decontamination and processing of reusable medical devices, ensuring compliance with local, national, and international quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Supervise the preparation, decontamination, and sterilization of reusable medical devices.
- Ensure compliance with all quality management systems, departmental policies, and regulatory standards.
- Provide mentorship and training for less experienced staff.
- Manage workflow and staff rosters to meet production requirements.
- Ensure equipment is maintained and repairs are coordinated as necessary.
- Participate in the on-call rota to ensure continuity of service.
- SVQ/NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in decontamination.
- Previous supervisory experience in a decontamination setting.
- Experience with operating decontamination equipment such as washer disinfectors and sterilizers.
- Strong understanding of infection control and quality management processes.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict quality and safety standards.
- Basic IT skills and experience using a database tracking system.
