About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to join our team at Moston, based in Coventry. The successful candidate will have a strong background in commercial contract management and will be responsible for identifying and managing legal, financial, and commercial risks and opportunities.

The role involves working closely with contract teams to provide expert guidance on contractual advice, risk management, support functions, contract variations, core data maintenance, issue escalation, documentation review, process improvement, and governance adherence.

The ideal candidate will have PFI experience, ideally within the healthcare or education sector, and will be proficient in resolving complex issues through problem-solving and negotiation. They will also have strong understanding of key contract provisions critical to managing contract risk profiles.

The estimated salary for this position is £65-£75k + car/car allowance, plus a 10% bonus.

Main Responsibilities
  • Commercial Contract Management: Manage commercial contracts, including providing expert guidance on contractual advice, risk management, support functions, contract variations, core data maintenance, issue escalation, documentation review, process improvement, and governance adherence.
  • Risk Management: Ensure risk and opportunity registers are maintained by account management teams, with clear action plans for each item.
  • Client Support: Provide support to clients, leveraging your expertise in conflict resolution and negotiation.
Requirements
  • Essential Competencies:
    • Substantial experience in Commercial Contract Management.
    • PFI experience, ideally within the healthcare or education sector.
    • Expertise in Risk and Opportunity Management.
    • Proficient in resolving complex issues through problem-solving and negotiation.
    • Skilled in managing KPIs and Payment Mechanisms.
    • Strong understanding of key contract provisions critical to managing contract risk profiles.
    Desirable Skills:
    • Proven ability to manage challenging client relationships.
    • Experience in defect management and dispute resolution.
    • Competence in negotiating or supporting settlement agreements.
    • Familiarity with drafting and reviewing variation documents, including sub-contract agreements.
