Job Summary:
University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (UCLH) is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Clinical Technologist to join our Radiation Physics team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in providing radiation protection services, including personal dosimetry, environmental monitoring, x-ray and ultrasound quality control, and monitor calibration.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide radiation protection services to patients, staff, and visitors in accordance with UCLH's radiation protection policies and procedures.
- Conduct personal dosimetry services, including dosimeter calibration, badge reading, and dose analysis.
- Perform environmental monitoring, including radiation level measurements and air sampling.
- Conduct x-ray and ultrasound quality control, including equipment calibration and performance testing.
- Assist in the development and implementation of radiation protection policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with other teams, including clinical scientists and medical physicists, to ensure effective radiation protection services.
Requirements:
- Hold a relevant qualification in radiation physics or a related field (e.g., HND or degree).
- Have previous experience in radiation protection services, preferably in a healthcare or academic research environment.
- Be familiar with radiation protection policies and procedures, including those related to personal dosimetry and environmental monitoring.
- Have excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Be able to work independently and as part of a team.
